BS generally means Bharat stage, where the emission value of India is measured. This idea came from a European country. This standard is set for measuring smoke emission of vehicles operated in European countries. In India, an organization called BSES was set up to control air pollution. This BSES basically defines BS. The concept was first introduced in India in 2000 and is slowly gaining ground. In line with the Indian market, we now see vehicles up to BS6 in the Bangladesh market. |
