For promoting our longest sea beach “Cox’s bazaar” and “safety riding”
JUNE SHADIQULLAH and
ABIDUR RAHMAN traveled four thousand and five hundred
kilometers and returned safely. Their slogan was “Sea Beach to Himalaya”. They had started their journey on 26th December and returned at 7th January from beanpole, Bangladesh. They reached Dhaka 8th January.
June Shadiqullah and Assistant editor of Motorcycle Valley Mikdad Bin Huq Ether had a conversation between them and June Shadiqullah said they first went to Benapole and from there they went Kolkata with their motorcycles. From there they leave for Patna and after four day journey from Brianne border they entered to Nepal Rakhsul boarder and then they reach to Kathmandu. They returned to Bangladesh with the same path. During the journey they have lots of experience, sometimes they get scared, sometimes they feel astonished and sometimes they feel their journey is over but they finished their trip after all. Sharing this exploration story with motorcycle valley June said “this type of trip is for them who likes adventure”.
June also said “at the whole journey my motive is to promote Cox’s Bazaar. We invited the people of Kolkata and Nepal for travelling Cox’s Bazaar sea beach. Many of them are interested to travel Bangladesh and our sea beach because they had no idea about Cox’s bazaar sea beach. We had also done a campaign of safety riding”.
Few special moments of the long interview between June Shadiqullah and Motorcycle Valley is given bellow.
Motorcycle Valley: What was the motive to make this type of trip?
June Shadiqullah: Every single motorcycle rider who is passionate about their riding wants to travel the other countries with their motorcycles. But it is better to have a special reason to travel outside our country, because few extra facilities are there for special causes.
Our core motive is to promote the largest sea beach of the world Cox’s Bazar.
Motorcycle Valley: Why you choose Nepal?
June Shadiqullah: I used to dream of this tour very often which was Cox’s bazaar to Kathmandu but that dream never come to reality. But this time my dream comes true. Few of my special natives which I have to mention like, Mohammad Barikul Islam ( Bangladeshi ambassador) , Easel Mortuza and Shahriar Sujit inspired me and I made my trip planning with them from Cox’s bazar to Kathmandu. One of the other reason was I lived in India for four years that’s why I didn’t think twice to have this trip.
Motorcycle Valley: How did you mange the papers and international driving license before starting the journey?
June Shadiqullah: At first I have to get my visa and then international driving license.
For having the international driving license you must have your Bangladeshi license photocopy and if the license is without cheap (old license) like me then you have attested that photocopy from the issue place. Validity of international driving license is one year and it will cost you TK 2500.
Visa done, driving license done, now the only thing I need was carnet. Those who really want to have the carnet then go to the NBR office for the NOC (No Objection Certificate). Now the question is to whom you should go for carnet, how and why? In our country we think carnet means something which is prohibited because few awful peoples imported some vehicles using the carnet system (No tax applicable at carnet system) but didn’t return them. Whether they are riding those vehicles by using fake number plate or they sold them with false number plates and that’s why NBR get into this process.
Every single registered Bangladeshi vehicle can take the carnet facilities but they must have the NOC letter of NBR. After you got the NOC then you have to submit the same amount of your bike at any bank and then you have to pay the carnet fee of TK 12000. It will be issued from Switzerland and only that country can help you to get this for which you make you international driving license. Though you have the carnet but you must sign the bond at the border before you leave.
Motorcycle Valley: Did you get sponsorship help?
June Shadiqullah: Yes we do get sponsorship, our main sponsor was MJL Bangladesh Limited (Mobil one) and the tour partner was RASEL INDUSTRIES LIMITED and CLUB KPR
Motorcycle Valley: Tell us about the preparation before you started your journey?
June Shadiqullah: Before heading through Cox’s bazaar I took Motul coolen it didn’t get frizzed at cold weather and also took engine oil named Mobil 1 racing 40. After I left home i suddenly realize that I have left my knee gourd. After Saeed Johan listened all he took my knee gourd from my house along with some chocolates and saline which were in great help after some times.
Motorcycle Valley: When and where you started your journey?
June Shadiqullah: From 16th December 2015 I have travelled the 64 cities in our country for five days and fortunately after exact one year I started my journey to Kathmandu from Cox’s bazaar. I went to Cox’s bazaar at 16th and returned to Dhaka at the 17th December and from Dhaka the journey to Kathmandu began at the 26th December 2016.
Motorcycle Valley: Did you face any problems at the borders?
June Shadiqullah: We reached beanpole custom house at 28th December 10am. After sometimes we meet customs commissioner. After we showed they letter of NBR to him we read the whole letter for sometimes and said, “don’t be upset, it will took some time please wait let me see what can I do”. After that he sends us to the deputy commissioner Babul Iqbal. He was outside of his office we meet him after lunch. After watching all he said only two of you are going? It is better to go with a group because it is a very good idea. We didn’t have any answers on that time. He give the responsibility to MR.Jobael for complete the process and the process had come to an end at 6PM. On the other side I am getting many phone calls randomly, they are asking where are we? How long it will take to cross the border? I was not sure how long it will take, so what will I answer so I remain shut.
After finishing all the formalities we crossed the border and got into to India. I was think it took one day at the Bangladeshi border, who knows how long we have to stay at the Indian border. After the border officers seen the yellow card of the Carnet they started to behave very well. Officer took us to his room and filled our form with his own hand and then we gave our signature. It took only ten minutes, and extra fife minutes for the immigration. After spending total 15 minutes we went for Kolkata. Again we faced difficulties at the Bangladeshi border when we returned.
Motorcycle Valley: According to the experience of your tour did you face any big problems at the road during the journey?
June Shadiqullah: No big problem took place at our journey but after crossing Asansole we get into a problem because of our own reason. We stand there for a while at a petrol p[ump and a poisonous insect just get into my helmet and after a while into my eyes also. I washed my eyes as early as possible. But that doesn’t work; flow of water from my eyes didn’t stop. For a little mistake and to take a shortcut we got into the side roads from the high way and we get lost and we have to ride extra 200 kilometers.
Motorcycle Valley: If you have some memorable moments then share with us.
June Shadiqullah: if we talk about the memorable moments then I had to say there were many. For example the honor we get from the Indian border officers after watching the yellow carnet card. After that I must say the hangout between us and Anjan brother after we travel Haura and reached Kolkata new market and later than we went to his house also. At Nepal “Bike Freak” one of the biggest bike gang came to us for watching Mslaz motorcycle but funny thing was they didn’t have any interest in KPR because they say it’s a Japanese motorcycle. When we are going to Kathmandu a couple was stuck at the hill roads because their bike chain was wrecked. Abid vai fixed their bikes chain. For fixing their chain and help them out Abid vai got much gratitude and got a chance to make few phone calls with their cell phone. Later on they recall those numbers and get our Facebook ID and send us friend requests. We feel very proud when we saw their Facebook wall because they posted a status which was- “Saved by two Bangladeshi brothers”. After we reached Nepal embassy we got surprise plan for which we were not ready. After having our breakfast we went for the Bangladeshi embassy. After we introduce our selves they give us great honor. High commissioner Madam’s head received us and started the photo session. . Later we headed for the china border coders. At last we went for hangout with Anjan da, Jignes, Abhishek, and Mousumi. We all are messing Bokhtier because his legs were not doing well on that time, so he was taking rest.
Motorcycle Valley: Many Thanks for giving us time.
June Shadiqullah: Pleasure is all mines.
