Got wonderful support from motorcycle groups during 64 district tour: Alamgir Ahamed Chowdhury and Chowdhurani Depali Ahamed

Tourist couple, Alamgir Ahamed Chowdhury and Chowdhurani Depali Ahamed, has visited 64 district of Bangladesh rides on motorcycle in the banner of “Visit for Bangladesh 2016”. They started their journey from Munshiganj at 30th October 2016 and completed at 25 January 2017 in Comilla.

They started their journey with the slogan “Tourism for All” of World tourism day 2016. This amazing motorcycle riding tourist couple was committed to deliver the message to all the parts of Bangladesh.

During that time, we have seen their smiley face at facebook every day with background of circuit house and caption “Now we are in new place”. They were hosted by district commissioner and stayed at circuit house.

Alamgir Ahamed Chowdhury and Chowdhurani Depali Ahamed, amazing motorcycle riding couple, usually visit District commissioner, Biking community as well as school and college and share their experiences.

We, Motorcycle Valley, got chance to spend some quality time with them. Mikdad Bin Huq Ether, assistant editor of Motorcycle valley and Asif Reza got their interview. Some of the foremost talks are published below.







MotorcycleValley: Why this type of tour? What was the main theme or message of this tour?
Chowdhury: More than twelve years we used to make a tour every single year. We always wanted to share my feelings, joys, regrets and advantages about these tours to inspire peoples. So I made my mind and make this trip happened to share all of my feelings, necessity and joys about the tour for the other riders. Because we were chosen for the “Visit Bangladesh 2016” concept announced by our government and we wanted to spread the slogan of “world tour organization” which was “Tourism for all”, we prepared our mind to make a trip of entire Bangladesh.

The main theme or message which we want to share for all was “tourism for all”. It means we were trying to inspire peoples for making tours and to inform them that tourism is for all to travel especially in our country.

MotorcycleValley: Why husband and wife both together? Which challenges you overcome to go together? Especially when it’s about family and roads?
Chowdhury: Accept spreading the message of “Tourism for all” we were trying to notify about the benefits of family bonding and that’s why we both started to go on tours to inspire peoples. At these days morality of the new generation care getting distracted because of the lack of family relationship.
Because we used to live in combined family we didn’t have to face any family challenges or difficulties. Because of the permission of our family we were able to make those trips for twelve years. Our child used to live with his grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts like an own family. It is important for us to make our call.

Community challenge was an issue to have this kind of trip and we faced it. People used to say crazy guy and crazy wife about us. And the road challenge at the trip was our safety issues. To overcome these obstacles we had full faith to our almighty Allah. With the help of Allah and along with self defense techniques marshal art, knife, defense stick and confidence in us we were determined to overcome the challenges but Alhamdulillah we didn’t have to face any safety challenges.

MotorcycleValley: How you set the whole planning of your trip?
Chowdhury: First thing first we made our own decisions of the whole trip to stick a plan. Following the map we got the idea of the roots for traveling to 64 districts in our country. Secondly we meet one of the best biker MR. June Sadikullah for making the root plan and after we get together he showed us his root plan, finally we decide to follow his plan for our tour. Thirdly we asked for the help of government organization and Bangladesh tourism board an establishment of tourism ministry agreed to help us and the primarily sponsored us. After that we got the sponsorship of Rasel industries and for that our journey becomes easier. They gave us a 150cc motorcycle as and their every dealers and mobile mechanic team helped us around 64 districts.
That’s how we set our planning for the trip.

MotorcycleValley: what were the formalities? Was there any administrative problems?
Chowdhury: Main formality was to put an application to the tourism ministry. After that with the help of tourism board DO letter to the Districts chancellor of all 64 districts. By the DO letter a conversation and informal meeting was preset to all District chancellors, at least one school or college visit, conversation and answering their questions, press conference with the local journalists at the press club of every districts, visit the historical places, take photos and videos and to communicate with the youth was the instructions for us.

Because of the situation or negligence of the district administrative office we have to face some difficulties.

MotorcycleValley: Which motorcycle was used for your tour?
Chowdhury: Lifan KPR 150cc.


MotorcycleValley: When the tour was started and where it comes to an end?
Chowdhury: Our tour was started at 30-10-2016 and it has come to an end at 25-01-17.

MotorcycleValley: What kind of problems took place before you start this tour and how did you manage?
Chowdhury: If we talk about the problems then community, administration and sponsorship were the biggest problems but our strength of mind was the key to solve these problems.

MotorcycleValley: During your trip what type of support did you get?
Chowdhury: Almost every district administration helped us willingly. Support of the youth and peoples cannot be forgotten. Best support we get was from the motor bikers and the motorcycle groups. Whenever we entered a new place motorcycle groups were present for welcoming us. Day or night we got great help from them.

MotorcycleValley: if you have any memorable moment then share with us.
Chowdhury: Memorable stories are many, specially the welcoming of all districts. If we mention the names it will be many. When we reached Laxmipur district we meet a one people at the road. He was not a biker or known to us but he asked who we are and what are we doing. He offered us to have lunch with him to a restaurant near by us. It was 12 PM at the clock and we promised him to come at 3 PM.

Before the set time he started to call us through mobile phone and we reached the restaurant. After we get there we saw he was seating in front of us on a motorcycle and a packet of sweet was in his hands. He said we have to go to his house because her wife requested to take us there and he started the motorcycle and took us there. We were astonished after we arrived to his house, a big arrangement was there for us and all the family members were standing for a warm welcome. We can’t express our feelings about the moment of that time how a combined family made us their own.

MotorcycleValley: What is your opinion for the motorcycle community oif Bangladesh based on the experience of you tour?
Chowdhury: Motorcycle communities are almost positive. With the power of motorcycle they want to do something and because of this community they are together. They are inspired to do good things for the society and helping each other. On the other hand few are using the community for their own good. It can’t do any harm to motorcycle community because by the change of time they will take apart.

MotorcycleValley: According to the experience of your tour, tell us about the road condition. (Road types, Drivers, vehicles etc)
Chowdhury: From the past these days country roads are developed a lot, specially the highways. But most of the city roads are congested and traffic jam is a big problem because of our traffic maintenance. Our administration is responsible for this. Rebuilding the roads without planning, new construction etc is the main reason for traffic jam nowadays and also at the past. It’s quiet surprising those local vehicles which are made for the rural areas, also running at the highways. Three wheelers, with the help of tractors 50/60 foot vehicles to carry stuff etc are also there. Bus and truck drivers think the bikers as an ant and that’s why when they come from the front small vehicles must step aside from the middle of the road. Sometimes because of this carelessness accident occurred often.

MotorcycleValley: What is the next preparation of yours?
Chowdhury: From the childhood there was desire, which is to represent Bangladesh internationally. Holding the hand of bike riding passion we will try our best to fulfill that desire. Recently we planned to take a trip outside of our country to West Bengal. Insha Allah with help of our tourism board, west Bengal board, other tourism institutes and different sponsors will make this trip happen as early as possible. Relationship of both Bengals will be seen with this tour program.
