Motorcycle CC limitation in Bangladesh

Forget the other countries, watching high CC motorcycles of the neighbor country our youth only takes deep breath and cannot do anything else. Every year the cc limitation is increasing 5-10 cc from the previous stoppage 150cc. most of the youngsters wants no CC limitation, and the others want at least 200-300 CC permission. Peoples put logic against these demands, they says the more higher CC limitation, the more accidents will take place which causes death. Sometimes it is heard that if the government permit to import high CC bikes then the bad occurrences will increase because the national security forces don’t have the higher range bikes. On the other hand people thinks our country roads are not perfect for riding the higher CC motorcycles. So how we will get into a decisions about the higher CC motorcycles?

Looking at the Bangladeshi motorcycle market we will see the demand of 100cc motorcycle is really high and there are two reasons behind that. First reason the reasonable price, and the second one is the fuel efficiency. And next to it there comes 125cc and 150cc bikes.

Is higher cc means high speed?
Yeas from one side it is true and from the other side it is not. It does not mean that 300cc bike will provide 300 KM/H speed, on the other side few bikes will provide more speed than their CC. but one thing is true that for high speed we are going to need higher CC engine.

Why we need higher CC engine?
Main attraction of the youngsters is speed. Because of that they like higher CC motorcycles for the expectation of high speed. Bangladeshi roads are not perfect for extraordinary speed. In fact the capital city Dhaka holds that kind of roads where the average speed is 5/6 Km/H. Which means people can easily pass through on foot faster than bike. Higher CC motorcycles are not only required for speed but they are also need for other important issues like, touring, hill tracks, for the cruiser bikes engine etc.

CC vs Fuel Cost
Though the sports bikes are popular among the youth riders but they also complains against the mileage as well. Fact is that you cannot have fuel efficiency from a high speed or high performance bike. Talking about that issue we can see at present the 150cc motorcycles provides 45 KM/L mileage, and the 165cc bikes offer maximum 40 Km/L mileage. Like them 200 cc bikes will provide 35 Km/L mileage and the 250cc bike will provide 30 Km/L mileage. So not only price but also the fuel cost will be the reasons why the higher CC bikes will becomes expensive, though it will become normal with the flow of time.

Demand is raising of higher CC
If it was about the matter of price or only fuel cost then the demand of 50 or 80cc bikes will remain strong but nowadays they are not seen anywhere at the choice list of the users.

So day after day the demand of higher CC range are increasing among peoples mind. Without the speed those who wants travel with bikes a lot, and those riders who lives in the cities like Chittagong and cox’s bazar need high performance or high CC motorcycles. Because of the new 165CC limitation 5-6 models already arrived in our country. If that limitation increases up to 200-250 Cc then few more attractive and well performing bikes will arrive in Bangladeshi market. And if the government permit up to 350CC then undoubtedly a groundbreaking change will be seen at the motorcycle market of Bangladesh. Exclusively youths dream the bike named “Royal Infield” can be purchased on that time.

Verdict
On the whole it can be said demand of higher CC bikes are increasing in Bangladesh. Using and increasing the correct laws and regulations along with the public consciousness high performance bike can be allowed in our country. Two things will happen because of this step, one will be the young age riders can fulfill their dream by having their dream motorcycles which they desire of every time, and the other one is our local market will be filled up with trendy and quality full bikes. So let’s hope the higher authority will bear all these things in mind and think about this issue.
