The Deputy Managing Director of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited Engineer Liaquat Ali commented about Walton's e-bike Takyon, which was recently approved by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
Looking sophisticated and extremely attractive, this e-bike has a powerful brushless DC motor with a maximum power of 1.5 KW. It uses a new technology graphene based battery, which has a capacity of 1.6 kWh. The bike will travel up to 70 km on a single charge. The maximum speed limit of the bike is 50 km per hour.
Also Takyon 1.00 has new technology eco-friendly graphene based battery with 600 - 800 cycles which a customer can safely use for about 3 years. The bike has a portable charger. Walton's e-bike can be charged from the 220 volt electrical line used at home. Both wheels of the bike have hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless tires. There is LCD speedometer and attractive LED lighting also.
One thing to be noted here is that while 100cc fuel-powered bikes run for a maximum of 50-60 km on 1 liter of oil, Walton's Takyon 1.00 electric bike runs up to 70 km on a single charge. Walton offers the facility to buy Tachyon E-Bike from Walton Digitech website as well as from Walton showrooms.
Interestingly, fuel-powered bikes cost Tk 2 or more per kilometer. On the other hand, electric bikes cost only 0.10 - 0.15 paisa per kilometer. Needless to say, petrol-octane powered bikes cause noise and environmental pollution whereas electric bikes are completely free from these pollutants. Also it is quite environment friendly as it uses graphene based battery.
Fuel-powered bikes require periodic maintenance and separate costs. On the other hand, the maintenance cost of e-bikes is much lower than that of fuel-powered bikes. As normal motorcycles have manual clutch gear, it is difficult to drive and balance. But E-bikes are fully auto gear so it is easy and enjoyable to ride then fuel powered bikes.
2 years complete free after-sales service is available on Takyon electric bike from Walton's designated service points.
With the approval of BRTA, now this e-bike can be ride on highways by anyone with valid documents. E-Bike is one of the best choice of leisurely people and it is expected that E-Bike will become widespread in Bangladesh in the coming days with its own unique features which are not usually available in fuel-powered bikes.
