In the motorcycle market, the classic retro look has been one of the best bikes in the eyes of bike lovers since the early days of motorcycles and with this theme in mind, Yamaha has launched their brand new GT150 Fazer model in China.
Needless to say that the retail price of this bike in the Chinese market is 13,390 yuan which is around 2.5 lakh taka in Bangladeshi currency. Among the main hardware of the Yamaha GT150 Fazer is the same engine used in the FZ15, Fazer 150 and Crosser 150.
Yamaha 150cc as a Classic Motorcycle
The
Yamaha GT150 Fazer is given an attractive design, which is truly capable of catching anyone's attention. The bike has a cool vibe and is available in the Chinese market in white, dark grey, light gray and blue colors. Across all the color variants, most of the bikes have blacked out parts at the bottom which gives a different look to its beauty.
Like some of Yamaha's signature retro bits, this bike has round headlamps, rear view mirrors and turn signals. Other details include all-LED lights, 12V DC charging socket, fork gaiters, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and tan leather seats in quilt pattern and tracker-style side panels. The bike has a circular fully digital instrument panel that will display various information for the convenience of the rider.
The
Yamaha GT150 Fazer ticks all the boxes with the rider's convenience for everyday safe commuting with the amazing sensors on the bike. It has a slender profile, which will come in handy in heavy traffic. The seat height is 800 mm, which will ensure easy handling and great balance during movement. The bike has a tall seating position and is big enough for two adults. However, this bike does not feature grab rails and this can be cited as an anomaly.
Users are expected to get the best comfort from the mid-mounted foot pegs and normal bike-like seating position, high handlebars. Although the bike is primarily for city commuting, it sounds like it can handle some mild off-road with ease. Features like handlebar brace and dual-purpose block pattern tires are expected to perform well in any off-road conditions.
Yamaha GT150 Fazer Features & Performance
The engine used in the Yamaha GT150 Fazer is 149cc with the same bore and stroke as the FZ15, Fazer 150 and Crosser 150. The air cooled, 2 valve, SOHC motor produces a maximum power of 12.3 hp at 7,50 rpm and Nr4m2 and a maximum torque of 6,000 rpm. This bike is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The suspension installed on the new Yamaha 150cc Classic is made up of duty telescopic front forks and dual rear suspension. The bike gets 18 inch tires on both the wheels, 90/90 at the front and 100/80 at the rear. In terms of braking, disc brakes are provided on both the wheels. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,330 mm and weighs 126 kg with a 12.5 liter fuel tank.
With the growing popularity of retro bikes in the Indian subcontinent over time, the Yamaha GT150 Fazer is considered to be a perfect fit for this market. However, it is not yet certain whether the GT150 Fazer will be launched in any market in the Indian subcontinent. Yamaha India is on the market with the retro-styled FZ-X, though it doesn't look as classic as the GT150 Fazer. Yamaha already has a 150cc platform in more or less every country in the Indian subcontinent, so launching the GT150 Fazer here shouldn't be too much of a problem.
If you take a close look at all the above, it won't take much time for this bike to arrive in Bangladesh because the demand for this design bike in Bangladesh is also increasing with time, most of the sophisticated bike lovers are now paying more attention to different design bikes.
