In terms of existing situation and our country market, motorbike is considered to be one of the most successful products. The reason behind can be Corona's social distance and restrictions, which have played a role for the rising motorcycle demand. From the time onwards, regular populations started looking for alternatives to public transport and motorbikes became the top demand. Prior to that, in the fiscal year 2016-17, the price of motorbikes was reduced and the market expanded as the government provided some facilities to the traders conditionally for the development of the motorcycle industry. In addition, almost all types of domestic and foreign importers and manufacturers starting production within the country, results in reduction of the prices of various company motorbikes. Consequently, all kinds of buyers found their desired bikes within reach and motorbikes started gaining huge popularity as personal vehicles.
On the other hand, at present day report depicts motorbikes are no longer limited to necessities. Due to its huge popularity, it has now become a craze. Motorbike community-centric activities are now in trend, which has increased the demand for new motorbikes in the premium segment in our country. In this segment, Yamaha is the brand of choice for buyers with good performance, best look, and various safety features. A number of attractive models of Yamaha are officially coming to the country holding the hands of ACI Motors, which is giving satisfaction to the customers. However, after this year's budget, the price of all types of motorbikes is increasing. Considering this prospect Yamaha motorcycles may not be an exception. There are some logical reasons behind this rise in prices indeed.
First and foremost, the current inflation situation has led to an economic crisis in most of the sectors. As a result, there is an imbalance in the domestic market in almost every aspect. Our currency depreciates against the dollar; extra money may have to be calculated for any import-dependent product. As we all know that our motorbike industry is still largely dependent on import items there is no other option but to escalate the pricing. ACI Motors officially started production in the country in May 2019 by setting up a Yamaha factory in Sreepur, Gazipur. However, due to the CKD system, entire system is still dependent on imports for all parts. As a result of dollar rate increase, most of the parts has to be imported at higher prices. On the other hand, premium segment motorbike models like Yamaha R15 V3, Yamaha XSR 155, Yamaha MT15. are being fully prepared in the form of CBU units from abroad. According to senior officials of ACI Motors, if the dollar rate hike and the imposition of import duty do not change, the price of Yamaha Motorbike will increase by up to 5% depending on the model. Yet, many believe that motorcycle sector will play a leading role in the changeover of the country's economy. The demand for motorbikes in the premium segment increasing day by day in the market, which is why many people seem to think that there will be no shortage of consumers even after a slight increase in prices.
