Shaheed Zia Shishu Park

Rajshahi City Corporation undertook a project in 1995 to build the Shaheed Zia Shishu Park. The project was not executed due to various complications. The park was opened to the public on February 1, 2006 on a trial basis. Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan officially inaugurated the park on February 25, 2006. More than Tk 11 crore was spent on the construction of Shaheed Zia Shishu Park. The park has 70 games to play of using 19 items and they are spread over 12.21 acres of land. Items include Merry Go Round, Mini Railcar, Monorail Sky Bike, Flum Rides, Octopus, Super Swing, Bumper Car, Bumper Boat, Kidi Rides, Physiological Games, 3D Movie Theater, Pedal Boat, Bouncy Castle, Horse Ride, Horse Ride Swing, paratrooper, tea cup and battery car. There are three counters on each side for tickets to enjoy the items inside. The beauty of the park has been enhanced by creating artificial hills in the middle of the lake. Two bridges have been built on either side to allow the mini railcar to pass through the hills. The office of the two-storey building has a beautiful entrance gate resembling an animal house and an ice house. There is a prayer room on the second floor of this building. The exit gate resembles an octopus and the entrance gate resembles a tiger's face to entering in and going out.

If you want to go to Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, you have to take the Rajshahi-Naogaon Highway. The distance of this park from Rajshahi's one of the main ponit Railgate is about 3 kilometers. It will not take long to go to the park from that palce if you ride on bike. The road that goes north from the Railgate junction is the Rajshahi-Naogaon Highway. After about 3 km on that highway, you will see the main gate of the only postal academy in Bangladesh. The road on the right hand side from the gate of this postal academy is the main road to the main Zia Shishu Park. Shaheed Zia shishu Park can also be reached by the road that goes to the left hand side from the corner of Postal Academy. From the Railgate to the park, you can see the District Stadium, BGB Head Office, Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) Building, Postal Academy right in front of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and then Shaheed Zia Shishu Park.
