Vitargarh

This place is located 15 km north of Panchagarh town along the Bangladesh-India border. In terms of size, Vitargarh is the largest average in Bangladesh. The location of Vitargarh covers an area of about 12 square miles. It was not possible to determine the exact date of construction of the Vitargarh fort. However, Vitargarh and Vitargarh forts were not built at the same time. Historians believe that the initial structure of the fort was built by Prithviraj around the 6th century. There is a big dighi and a few small dighis in Vitargarh fort and inside it, moats and walls can still be seen outside the temples, palaces, and buildings
