Bajaj V15 Motorcycle
Bjajaj V15 motorcycle from Bajaj was in the center of discussion of all bike lover in the recent time why because it is totally different from the controversial bikes style along side it made with aircraft carrier INS Vikrant's metal. This bike not only made with this aircraft rather it also has history, emotion, culture and motion of time inside of it. At the same time, its an endeavor to come out from the controversial type of Bajaj. We hope to say that very recent this bike will be available in Bangladeshi market.
As you can guess that, this of the clear corporate tactics of Bajaj which they are thinking with V15 and this is not the first time, they have done this before. In the year of 1979 they produce Sprint model dealing with Italian scooter brand Vespa. By the amazing popularity of this scooter, in the last decade of 80's they withdraw the deal with Vespa and began to produce by themselves and they name it Chetak it was a name of a horse of famous legendary warrior of India Rana Pratap Singh. This scooter was being so popular that even 1,00,000 production were failed to fill up the demand. Customer have to wait for a long time to purchase this often, they have to spend extra money for this bike. It was something like daily appliance as like Pressure cooker, Gas stove. The company was very much successful to inspire general people to this bike with the slogan of “Hamara Bajaj(Its our Bajaj)” the company was gain Indian two wheeler market as a crown less king with this scooter. When they stopped the production of this scooter “Chetak”, it was the talk of the country on that time as like a hot cake.
When Indian government accept the open market economy, Bajaj continuously run with some mistakes as like closing Chetak, one of the most popular bike Discover 135's production closed as well as some decision making mistake and they have to pay for this. It was a time when they were at the number 1 but now they are at number 3. Their share in the two wheeler market is only 19%.
It does not matter how perfect you are at swimming, when you fall in the heavy tide then you must have to make a death fight. Bajaj is trying to recover their old fame of two wheeler market with some patriotic symbol. This time they are announcing with proud air “Invincible” but there is a question, to whom they saying this? Aircraft carrier INS Vikrant or their new bike V15?
It is good to say that INS Vikrant was really an invincible ship. In the second world war it took part with the side of British Royal Navy. This ship had a proud history of that time. After second world war British Navy declare this ship as a scarp and in the year of 1957 Indian government purchase this and it commissioned in the Indian Navy. This ship played a great roll in 1961 to uproot Portuguese colony and same time in the year of 1971 in the India-Pakistan war. It was decommissioned in 1997 and sent through the scrap yard in 2004. from these points of view, this was invincible. Bajaj purchase this scrap of 19500 ton by 600 million Rupee. This metal only use for making the fuel tank of V15.
On the other hand, Bajaj V15 is Bajaj's new motor bike which contains the displacement 149.5cc, technology is DTS-I, 12 BHP @ 7500 RMP WITH 13 Nm torque. Curb weight is 135 KG. The engine is not going to look like as 150cc rather its size something like 200cc or 220cc.
Design:
its design is going to put you in the puzzle at first site. Generally, a bikes design is made to attract an exact ages generation as like Pulsar AS 150 only targets young generation. This bike is not going to adjust with the personality of the aged people. Meanwhile regular Pulsar 150 is going to adjust with all the bikers of different ages. But you cannot classified this V15 as like those bikes.
It has 18 inch in the front tire an 16 inch in the back will give you the idea of cruiser but you are not going to have the comfort of cruiser in this bike. Rather, its removable seat cowl may look like to you that it is a cafe racer. Cafe racer is such a bike where speed and control is the main focus than the comfort. Can you get the difference? Cruiser prefers comfort and cafe racer prefers speed and control. But Bajaj claim that, it is a commuter bike. If we consider this a commuter bike as the company claims, then this will be surprise to the bike lovers why because there are no commuter bike in the segment of 150cc. Actually they got themselves in the puzzle to design this bike, whatever it is but this cannot be a commuter bike. The design of Bajaj V15 is most similar with neo-netro design. You can understand when you look at the design of Indian iconic royal brand (Royal Enfield Continental GT) or BMW R nineT. How it is possible to make a commuter bike by giving a removable seal cowl in the design of neo-retro?
It is not matching with neo-retro design, a round simple headlight could be enough for it. At least you can compare this with the classic model of 80's decade. If the company remove the seal cowl then everywhere you will see the endeavor to reduce the price. As like instrument panel, analog speed meter and finished with odometer and fuel gaudge. But its instrument panel could be better equipped as its name connected with an invincible battle ship.
How does it feel to use?
very recently this bike released in the Indian market. But the bike lovers were waiting with heavy eager. At first, this bike is a historic piece, everything of this bike is related with proud history, secondly, its engine, chassis, design and everything is new.
Generally, Bajaj never do anything like this. Whenever they need to produce a new bike they just enhance the power some of their popular bike model. But this time they tried to present a whole new bike with whole new personality.
The company Say's its powerful engine gives you the thrill of riding which you never feel before. This will give a new twist in the commuter bike by its ability. It is good to say that, its heavy sound will gives it a different place among the others bike. You will never find anything hurry in this bike. This engine cannot perform freely until you don't free its clutch but once the engine is active, you can automatically guess the power of it.
This will give you extra comfort in the roads of cities. You can change its 5 gears only at the speed of 35 kilometer per hour. You are going to enjoy the ride why because you don't have to change the gears very quickly. As you know about the suspension of Bajaj that it always perform better then any others brand. To stop this V15 it has disc brake in the front but in the back it has drum brake which is made with ordinary model of 130mm and this may interrupt in your comfortable ride.
Meanwhile, we are receiving some complains from the Indian users
- Pick up of this bike is not so good.
- There is heavy problem in the gear shifting.
- It vibrates heavily in low speed.
- The users complain about the noise of engine which company Say's as Haski sound.
- The engine often gets so hot that some user even feel the burn of their legs.
- Some user told that, as a commuter bike its engine is not like 150cc segment but on the compare Pulsar 150cc's engine is far better then this one where Power of Pulsar engine is 14.8 BHP@ 9000 RPM and V15's engine power is 12 BHP@ 7500 RPM.
The production company Bajaj done the whole thing in their ability. They hoped a lot with this bike monthly 50,000 unit. The most important question on this matter is, can this bike V15 make their dream come true?
Or India's history and cultural limited edition stopped in the born?
We don't have the exact answer of this question right now, time will say the right things.
