In Bangladesh, one of the common motorcycle we seen both rural and urban road is Yamaha Deluxe 100. I started my bike riding with this revolutionary motorcycle model in 2005. It was my grandfather’s bike. After that, we had Bajaj Discover 135, it was and still one of the best model of Bajaj, according to me. Along with look performance was also admirable. Now I am using Bajaj V15 made of Majestic-class aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy INS Vikrant.
This is Mahbub Munna student of Rajshahi University. You can say I am a born motorcycle lover. As I mentioned above we got two revolutionary motorbike models. Among them I have good experience of riding Bajaj Discover 135. It was one of the top class motorbike models of Bajaj. It was the perfectly combined bike of attractive design, control. Since, I hear about the upcoming news of Bajaj V15 in the market, I was excited. Especially its historical background really touched my heart. Besides, strong outlook with semi cruiser structure have made this model out of ordinary. I was keenly waiting to come in Bangladeshi market. Few days later it’s become available in Bangladesh and got my one instantly from Uttra Motors, Rajshahi.
Already, I have ridden more than 3000 Km. Today I will share my riding experience with you. I believe my riding experience will help to know about the pros and cons of this historical bike.
Firstly, I would love to say about its unique body shape and outlook. There are dual ton color is available one is combination of red and black and other one is white and red. I prefer white color with deep red border at the side. Furthermore it has out of ordinary design tank that has made this model attractive. Frankly speaking, to me it’s look like an angry Bission. Its front wheel is high compare to rear one which provides this model semi cruiser look. Moreover, you might also found similarity with café racer model because of having cowl at the pillion. It does give a different look but I got to remove cowl for pillion. If I talks about its electric features, first of all I must say about extraordinary head and rear lights. Above all, Bajaj V15 has eye attractive outlook that could be grape the attention easily in the busy road.
Secondly, after outlook whet I care about a bike is engine performance. Generally we all know Bajaj has been carrying reputation of excellent engine provider. In the case of Bajaj V15, it has been decorated by 149.5 cc single cylinder that can generate 11.83 BPH max power with 13 Nm torque. Five speed changing options are given also known as gears. I have face some problem regarding gear changing. Need to fast move of the feet to change gear. You may get the 70 km/h within short time but more that make unusual sound.
I went to Sona Mashjid, Chapai Nawabganj near about 90 km from Rajshahi. It was tour of total 180 km in ordinary roads. I got mix riding experience consist of pros and cons. Never had felling of lack of engine power within city but did not get enough strength in highway. As a 150 cc segment bike, its power could have been better but I must say it is fuel efficient bike. It does run 55 KMPL which is above the average compare to other 150cc bike.
Moreover, I am not satisfied with suspension performance. It could have been more flexible to handle the shock of the rough and tough roads. No complain about breaking system. It has disc brake in front rear and drum brake in rear. I think it has good enough power to control the speed of 135 kg bike. You could easily cross the speed breaker due to have good ground clearance.
As for my night riding experience is concern Bajaj V15 has good enough headlight power to ride safely and smoothly during night. Unlike other available bike in Bangladeshi market, it has attractive flat tell lamp light.
Riding position and handle is comfortable to ride. Electric switch is powerful and meter consol is also uncommon. All the using materials are strong.
Pros
• Uncommon attractive design
• Touch of History
• Fuel efficient
• Comfortable ride
• Strong structure
Cons
• Engine power is not sufficient
• Suspension is not smooth enough
• Without cowl pillion cannot seat comfortably on the other hand it does loose glamour without rear seat cowl.
Bajaj V15 is one of the attractive models I ever seen with few pros and cons. I would like to give 8 out of 10.
