Honda CB Hornet 10000km riding experience by Istiak Kabir

Welcoming you all. My name is Istiak Kabir, currently I am using Honda CB Hornet 160cc which ones odometer is right now over 10,000 kilometers. I have already upholded my 4000 kilometer riding experience through MotorcycleValley. Recently I have crossed the milestone of 10,000 kilometers so I am here again today to share my riding and performance of my motorcycle after 10,000 kilometers.



At first I want to represent the Engine of my motorcycle. There is hardly anything new to say about the Engine quality when it is made by Honda. They never consider any condition on the quality of the Engine. Currently my bikes Engine performance is smoother than the new condition even I think it’s getting smoother with the flow of time. Throttle response, Engines power is all ok by the mercy of Allah.



As I have mentioned in my previous review on the matter of design that Honda’s design is very much exciting and its muscular body kit can be felt from its seating position. Same time, its wide tyre, X shaped tail lamp and others features are just fine enough in view and I don’t yet feel anything wrong with the color of my motorcycle so far.



Build quality is all ok so far. I don’t yet face any accident with my motorcycle and nothing like scratch or broken body parts I can felt yet so far in my motorcycle.

Seating position is comfortable from the beginning. I hardly can feel anything wrong while riding my motorcycle in the long route. Handlebar is straight and whenever I hold it, I feel extra confident inside me. But so far I have measured my motorcycle; seating position is not so comfortable for the pillion why because I noticed that, pillion can’t hold him/her for long time.

Headlamps light is not so powerful as it should from the beginning and I remove the AHO technology and set a switch, this is why now I can turn on and off the headlight according to my need. Same time, others electrical features are all ok in my point of view. On the other hand, there is an irritating matter in this motorcycle for me that, it does not have any Engine kill switch and this is the reason I have to use the key to turn on and off the Engine which is completely irritating for me. But I set the Engine kill switch and now I am free to ride my motorcycle as I want it.

I can feel vibration in the engine while I am on 7500 RPM but nothing like vibration when I am under 7500 RPM.

Suspensions are all ok for the rider but not as comfortable for the pillion as it should be. Pillion suffers a lot while on the long tour even pillion feel uncomfortable while on the bad road condition as well.

Braking system is ok till now to have proper control over this motorcycle. I don’t yet change the brake shoe of front or the rear wheel. Actually I don’t feel the need to change the brake shoe.

When the question is about the control after riding this motorcycle 10,000 kilometers then Honda CB Hornet is a perfect one why because its wide tyre let the rider to control this one perfectly wherever the rider is. At the same time, this motorcycle has the exact support of brake, suspension to have the proper support to stop it.

Many of the riders of this motorcycle feel the problem in chain but now this is no longer considered as problem as because “Honda Bangladesh” now serving this problem in free of cost which is really a great step for the customers. The day when I change the chain, I was feeling problem in the sprocket adjustment but that problem automatically solved just after riding my motorcycle few days. Along with changing the chain set, I have changed the spark plug and air filter. Now my motorcycle is perfect from all the sides and performing excellent way.

I have some special words on the matter of mileage of my motorcycle. I had more than good enough mileage few days ago and in the same period of time; I had tuned up my motorcycle from the servicing center and then I found the mileage range low. But I am positive on the matter of my motorcycle for having lower mileage range but I think there was a problem on tuning which is not done perfectly. I hope I will have the mileage like previous mark after retuning up the engine from the servicing center.

Servicing centers quality is not perfect as because the technicians are not well adapted even the worse matter is, they ask for money before starting their work. This was the incident of few days ago. I paid a visit to the servicing center after faced them last time and I found that the previous technician is just for the basic works but the main technician is very much adapted with the work and well experience as well but company should take care of the matter of asking money from the customers. I purchased my motorcycle from Mithun Honda and I urge to Mithun Honda that they should be more conscious on the part service and management.

I think Honda CB Hornet is ok and fine on the matter of price according to its features and performance.
