Honda CB Hornet 160R CBS 12000km riding experiences by Mehedi Hasan Bappy

I saw first the Honda Hornet 160 in Indian various website. The specification of this bike seems to me good but it is matter of sorrow that Honda Hornet 160 was not available in our country because of CC limit. I think Honda CB Hornet 160R is the standard bike in 160cc segment. When the CB Hornet launched is our local market in Bangladesh. I did not find anything positive because that was BS3 version. After so many days BHL has brought BS4 Hornet in Bangladeshi local market and I found very attractive design, graphics which amazed me. Honda has brought this bike in local market and to me its muscular body design, colorful eye catchy graphic different from all other bikes. All in all I have decided to buy Honda CB Hornet 160R.
After purchasing the bike, I have ridden in total 12000 kilometer till now. In this 12000 kilometer riding I have gather so many experience and I find good and bad sides also. I am going to discuss with you all of these good and bad sides. I hope after reading my experience you will be benefited.

First of all I am starting with some positive sides of this bike

-At first I would like to say about design, outlook and graphic with is very attractive to me. This bike has unique concept design which seems to different from all other bikes in local market. Meanwhile the headlamp and tail lamp design have given the bike good look. Honda has given a unique experience through this bike which is admirable.
-I felt little bit low torque in this bike engine but engine performance and power seems good enough to me. I am getting smooth performance and no vibration getting from this 163cc engine. On the other hand I feel good torque at high end. Initially the engine provides low torque but at the high end this engine able to provide good torque and at this time speed is much higher than initial.
-I think this bike is best for long ride. I have ridden continuously 350 kilometer in a day. After completing this continuous riding I felt much comfortable from the seating position and it is good for long riding also. No matter how much I ride, I do not feel uneasy or back pain because the combination of handle bar and seating position is perfect.
-I am getting better performance from CBS braking system. because when I ride this bike I got good performance from CBS and this CBS breaking helps breaking in short range. I am satisfied with this CBS braking system.
-I am getting good balance from this bike because this bike has wider tire, mono shock suspension etc. I have got 118 KMPH top speed from this bike and in this top speed I did not feel any imbalance issue. All were perfect. I am enjoying city ride because it has low turning radius which takes less place for turning.
-I think Honda Hornet provides best mileage in 160cc segment. In the city ride I am getting 45 KMPL and in highway I am getting 48 to 50 KMPL.


Now I am going to share some bad experience about this bike

-It would be better to increase initial torque from engine , but I as said above I feel good torque at high end.
-Build quality should be improved.
-It would have been better to have a oil cooled engine instead of air cooled. Others company offering 160cc oil cooled engine is this segment.

Considering quality and performance, I think this bike price is perfect. Thank you all for read my experience.
