Honda CB Hornet First Ride Review - Safwan

After using the bikes like “Honda CD80”, “TVS Apache RTR 150”, “Honda CB Trigger” I purchase one of the most expected among the heavy quality bike lovers “Honda Hornet 160cc”. Bike is like a passion for me and I love to wondering with my bike. I have a hobby to make a tour in the whole 64 district of Bangladesh with my Hornet. I mainly purchase Hornet because I think that it going to be the perfect one for long tour. Before purchasing this one, my choice was Yamaha Fazer” and I booked that one as well whereas, I never think that the price of Hornet is going to be less in this level. Whatever, I purchased Hornet few days ago and I have made a tour to Lalmonirhat, Rajshahi and it took the time of 9 hours which is really a long time and the reason of this, the speed of bike was 50-55 kilometer per hour. Today I am going to share my good and bad experience with you and I hope this will be pretty amazing for you to have some information about this expected one.



Design
Its design is really good to me specially its outlook is really nice. Nice graphics and color combination make it look good but the tail light is not suits with the structure of this bike as this one has a muscular shape and from this side, its tail lamp is very tiny.

Build quality
I have noticed plastics in the body in a large number but those are good in quality. It is hurtful for me to share that, I faced an accident just after entering in Rajshahi. A bike pushed me roughly from the back and it caused damage of my bike but not in the level as it should be why because its plastics are strong enough in quality. By overall things of this bike, I am happy with its build quality.

Seating position
As I have mentioned in the top that I purchase this one to make long tour and I already made a journey of 9 hours (220 kilometer) at a stretch where I can't feel any back pain or tiredness. Seating positions condition is new right now and that is why, it is hard now. I hope this is going to be easy with time flow and comfortable as well.

Controlling
Its control is pretty good from my view. Handlebar is very smooth by which I can move this one according to my wish. Its weight, seat height and also with others controlling features, its control is fine enough from my view.

Tyre
Tyres grip is fine and very well in quality. MRF 140 size tyre is used in this bike which ensure me the excellent balance.



Braking and suspensions
Honda don't let anything less on the matter of braking in this bike. Although, double disk brake is not available in Bangladesh but single disk brake is really good from my view. On the other hand, suspensions are pretty soft which ensure the comfortable ride.



Engine
This one has the Engine of 162cc which you can ride as you want specially on the matter of speed. Engine is smooth as a new bike but it can be expected that this will be better after 1500 kilometer. I can't sense anything less in the performance in the engine even after riding this one for a long time and can't even notice any bad sound. Its Engine has 5 smooth transmission gear box which never perform any false and gears are powerful well enough.

Mileage
This better to be frank on this matter, I can't measure it perfectly right now but according to the claim of the company and my personal opinion, this will be around 45 kilometer per liter. Honda's AHT technology is able to serve an excellent mileage.

Service center
Mithun Honda Service center of Rajshahi is very good from my view. They are very much sincere and they solve each of the problem with total cordiality.

Price
As a 160cc bike its price is perfect to me why because, according to the others bike of the same category and as a brand like Honda its price is reasonable.

Good sides
- Nice outlook
- Extra ordinary controlling
- Over excellent speed (Although I don't pick up more then 65 but it throttle response is good from my view)
- Comfortable seating position
- Smooth gear box

Negative parts of Hornet
- Headlamps light is little bit dim
- Better to change the looking glass
- AHO technology is disturbing from my opinion

Some advice to the company from me
- Its would be better to has ABS braking system
- Fuel injection engine would have been better
- Pillion can sit comfortable even in the long ride if the seating position would be split.

I will chose Honda CBR in future if I change this one
