Honda Hornet user review by Rafiul Islam

Honda Hornet 160cc bike is my dream bike in a word. When I was adjusted and used to with the Hero Deluxe then I got a news that a bike of Honda is coming in Bangladesh with latest power engine of 160cc and its name is Hornet. Just after having that news I started its whole information on the online including negative and positive sides. But I don't know in the meanwhile, Hornet took my heart away in this period of searching. By considering its Looks, Design and review from the users, I become so positive on this bike that I can't help but to purchase this one. It is better to mention that, this bike make me weak somehow by its goods sides.

I purchased this one from “Mithun Honda” which is located in the Banesshor bazar of Rajshahi just before 1.5 months ago. As because this one is my dream bike that is why I always tried to keep it fresh and clean. One more point is better to uphold that I learned to riding bike through Dayang 80cc and from then my addiction to the bike is enhancing day by day. Today I am to share my experience with my favorite Honda Hornet.

Honda does not gain its popularity so easily rather they made an excellent combination of exciting features and with the quality product and holding a major place among the local market. There is hardly any person who is known with the motorcycles but don't know the name of Honda.

This brand never consider any space on the matter of quality of the Engine. Engine of Honda Hornet is very much smooth so far I can sense even the more it becomes hot the more it becomes smooth. Engines sound is always make me feel the quality of this bike. I have picked up the top speed of 110 kilometers per hour. This will be wrong to mention this speed as top speed why because why because there was more space on the acceleration to pick more speed but I didn't try to pick up due to rough road condition.

When the question is about the design of my bike? Then I must have to say that the design of this bike is one of the major reason to purchase this one. When you take a look on the front part by sitting over its seating position you will see a giant design of this bike and its body kits will let you to feel the muscular feelings. On the other hand, this bike has X shape tail lamp which is the best among the 160cc segment in Bangladesh on the matter of look. I think no other bike has such look in the back side.

At first stage, its seating position seems like pretty high but I adjusted the suspensions and now seating position is just fine enough in my view. I never feel any tiredness when I made any long tour with this bike. I have seen so many bikers who feel pain in his waist and also in wrist while riding their bike for a long time but I never feel like anything so. In a word, this one is the best one on the matter of comfort in my point of view.

Same time, its control charmed me so nicely as well. I always have the exact control over this one whatever the road condition is. Specially, Honda Hornet has ultra modern breaking technology which let me have the perfect control with this huge size of bike. As the speed this bike has same exciting breaking system this one has. I never have to think about the speed of my bike why because I always stay tension free due to ultra modern breaking system of my Hornet.

Meanwhile, this bike has the monoshock suspension by which I always have proper balance even on the rough road condition. I can move and turn my bike as my wish and never have to think about the mark of cornering. My Hornet has wide tyre and this is the actual reason I always have the exact grip and control even on the rainy day and wet road condition. I have noticed a negative sides of my bike that, its riders seating position is fine enough but the pillions seating position is not so comfortable as it should be. When I am on the rough road, pillion can't hold his/her patient for minimum time due to the rough shake. I hope company is understanding what I am actually trying to say.

Only one thing make me feel bad among the Electric features of my bike and it is the light quantity of the headlight. I never have the light that a biker need on the highway same time, when I am on the on the highway for a long time, I loose my confident due to less light from the headlight.

When I am to purchase this one then I found its mileage via online that this will serve the mileage of 50 kilometers or so and it is the claim of the company self but I have test the mileage which is just over the 40 kilometers or so. As because this bike has a powerful Engine of 160cc so this short of mileage is tolerable positively. I am not unhappy with the mileage range of my bike.

I have been to the “Mithun Honda” to serve my bike and I can't mention them positively as because, their working environment is not so good. They are nor so cordial in their service rather they always looking for extra money from the customers. My claim to the owner of “Mithun Honda” that they should enhance the quality of service such like, once I am on the showroom/service center then I always try to be there.

When this bike first time came to Bangladesh, I thought its price is going to be around 3 Lakh Taka or so but Honda Bangladesh Private Limited serve a short of surprise to the people of Bangladesh. Price is just adjusted with the performance and features with this bike. I have no comments on this matter.
I was talking about the positive and negative sides of my bike so far but now I am to uphold something serious and I hope company will took these all seriously as well.

- First of all, company have to enhance the quality of the headlight.
- Secondly, suspension is not pillion friendly so company have to took this matter seriously as well.
- Thirdly, This bike has no engine kill switch and this matter is very much irritating to me to on and off the engine through the key.
I hope the company will take these problems seriously to hold their excellent reputation. If I change my bike in near future then I will choose Honda CBR Repsol.
