Keeway RKR 165 3500km riding experiences by Shamim Arafat Rocky

Assalamualaikum! Myself Shamim Arafat Rocky. I am a college lecturer (ICT), web developer and publisher by the profession. Also involved with blog and software team. On April 2018 I bought the Keyway RKS 150 Bike and sold it to my colleague last November. Due to his great interest, I sold that bike to him and the very next day I went to Dhaka (on November 3, 2019) and bought the Keyway RKR 165 bike. Next day I took the bike for a ride over 230 km from Dhaka and returned to my home in Chandraganj, Lakximipur. In fact, I could no longer wait for the showroom in my area because of the intense interest, that’s why I went to Dhaka.




Thanks to Rakib Hasan Nayeem brother. He gave me generous support and guidance to buy this bike. Prior to this I gained experience driving the Yamaha Libero 100 (2007-08), zongshen 100, Hero Honda CD Dawn 100, TVS Striker 125 (2017-18). From the 2018 I have driven the Keyway 150 about 17000 km. The great experience of that has given me the courage to buy the current Keyway 165 CBS.
I think I have said enough history, let us now talk about the bike I am riding.




165cc liquid cooled efficient Fuel injection engine, three spark plug, 18 BHP and 6 gears.
Before buying this bike I looked through different websites and then I preferred this. By the grace of Allah I didn’t find any flaws, it is as it is said. By this time I used Gixxer SF 155 and KTM Duke 200, therefore, I am feeling the speed and power perfectly.


Acceleration is already in my mind setup. Alhamdulillah I am getting what I desire for. For the first 200 kilometers gear shifting was little bit stiff but now it has become very smooth. On the second gear I raised the speed up to 55 and on the third the speed was 95 KM/H. (If you have any doubt than come any check) till now the top speed of my bike is 112 KM/H, but I have seen a video that has 135 KM/H speed record with this bike. Not only that a brother experienced 140 KM/H speed with this bike. I believe that because when the speed was on 112 I had lot of throttle response left in my hand.
The mono shock absorber is not a suspension it feels like I am seating over a couch. I cannot feel any impact of up and downs. But one thing I felt hand pain while riding inside Dhaka city because of pulling the clutch rapidly but now it is okay. Pillions have to face a bit difficulty for their seat but the riding seat I excellent and smooth for riding.

Yes it is true that this bike is little bit higher. For bellow 5.6 inches riders it will be difficult to touch the ground. But still it can be manageable, if you low down the absorber the riding seat will automatically get lower.

For the engine oil I used, Motul mineral at 264 KM, Hyundai synthetic 10w 40 on 636 and 913 KM, repsol 10w 40 on 1300 and 1985 KM. Till now this bike has checked by two free service, one showroom and a campaign service. To ensure the body kit safety I placed a stick bump bar, at the rear side I replaced the shari guard with Yamah Fazer Shari guard. Full body ceramic coating and finally the last add is the Nova LED headlight.

Everyone is astonished after watching the look and by the grace of almighty I hear a lot of gratitude from everyone. A few people was very worried about the seat height but after they realized why it was important they remain silent. Bike tires never skids. At the front is has 100/80-17 and at the rear side the measurement is 140/70-17. Cornering is really very smooth and the ready pick up just mesmerized me. Within three seconds you can overtake a bus or a truck in traffic. I overtake at the speed of 55-75 KM/H speed, please be safe and be very careful while overtaking.

I did drag racing twice - Yamaha FZ Fi V2 and Apache 4V. I have seen success twice. And occasionally I raced with the Yamaha R15, Gixxer SF. I stayed in the same rhythm and never crossed if there was extra traffic. Because I give priority to my life first.

One day I was able to do a full break from 80 Km speed and I stopped the bike within 10 feet. Due to reckless pick up the brake has to be done and Allah saved me. CBS brakes are a huge controller in these cases. My pillion left hope of his life. The pickup van was overtaking me in the middle of the road. I was forced to stand behind a CNG. CNG had also been pull the brakes before. This bike has a complete body finish like R 15 and many people mix it up. There was no tire mudguard in the back. I fitted a half mudguard.

Mileage I got 35-40 KM/L in my area, village side and used octane all the time. I'll check the top mileage and speed if I get a chance to be on the highway. Hopefully that will be mentioned in a later review. I haven’t get any opportunity to go to Long tour yet.

The negative side, the height of the bike, the front visor could have been a much better quality. Due to the light weight I found a few sounds, but I made it sound perfect using some rubber. Kit stickers could be more colorful. Half mudguard is needed at the rear side.
