This bike purchased from Rasel Industries Ltd, Dhaka
From the year 2005 I have started biking. The journey was started with a 50cc motorcycle and I am now using Lifan KPR 165 carburetor edition. At 2014 I bought Hero i-smart and I still own that bike, but couple of year back one bike grabbed my eyes and that was Lifan KPR. I was going out for a tour with friends and one of us had a striking Red colored Lifan KPR. On that day I was really pleased with the looks and even with the performance. After a 100 kilometers ride on that day I figured out this bike is really a master piece and I should go for it. I was thinking to have a bike for many days and I made my mind to buy Lifan KPR. Due some of my personal reason I have to wait for a while, but finally I take hold of my hand on my very own Lifan KPR 165 at this year on the month of February. For the last 6 months I am using this bike and, so far the meter is at 3500 kilometers. Bellow the lines I am going to share some of my experiences with you all.
Well, before I start let me tell you that I am really a big fan of Lifan and I don’t have any vital complaints in my bag. My user experience about Lifan is so admirable.
A few drawbacks I have seen on Lifan KPR 165:
-According to my experience I think this bike engine really gets overheated. Riding at heavy traffic, or for long time becomes so disturbing on that time, because of the excessive heat.
-Color quality is not up to the mark. I think my ismart still holds the original color, but my Lifan hasn’t. I have done ceramic coating to save the original color. Even it grabs scratches so early.
-Clutch leaver is so hard. I have tried to make it softer, because I felt very intense pain at my palm while using it, but unfortunately I haven’t found any solution yet.
Looking at the positives I found at Lifan KPR 165 I have,
-Excellent throttle response. I don’t have to worry about overtaking, or necessary speeding.
-Powerful engine performance. I have travelled on the mountain roads, I never felt lack of power, even at the smooth road it feels like a heavy duty machine as well. It accelerates the bike perfectly and I can have good experience.
-Lifan KPR 165 is really a comfortable bike, both for pillion and rider. Because of the suspension I never felt any discomfort issues, even I have travelled a long way as a pillion, on that day I was very comfortable as well.
-Stock headlamp of Lifan KPR 165 is projection, and for that reason night journeys becomes so comfortable as well. I never feel that I need an extra lights for night journeys.
-Suspension & Tyre response is perfect.
These were the good and bad findings of my Lifan KPR 165 in a nutshell. Now let me share my city and long ride experience with you guys.
I regularly travel in Dhaka city, for my office purpose and daily travelling. In my view, this bike has only one problem and that is the mileage. I never think of mileage because I knew that this bike offers less mileage. I get 30-32 KM/L mileage at the city roads, other things are perfect, no issues with the comfort, control, and handling. On the other hand, if I talk about the long journeys, I am totally pleased. I have travelled more than 350 kilometers in day and total of 800 kilometers within a couple of day. On that journey I was totally satisfied, both as a rider and pillion. No lack of engine power at the hill tracks, no matter of discomfort. Even on the long journeys this bike gives more than 35 Km/L mileage.
If I mention about the speed, once I have tried to check the speed and it was 120 KM/H with pillion. On the other hand speeding this bike up to 100/110 KM/H is nothing but a twist of the wrist.
On the whole, I am giving Lifan KPR overall eight out of ten rating, and I think if the mileage range gets better than it will be a perfect bike at its own segment and price range. No other Chinese bike has this type of performance that Lifan KPR 165 gives. Even the price is also very acceptable. Thank you for spending you valuable time.
