Suzuki Intruder Features Review

By the inspiration of the Japanese famous Kawasaki Eliminator, Bajaj is the first company to introduce Cruiser of “Avenger” series in the time of 2005. the characteristic of Avenger series is, it almost look like the same. “Bajaj Avenger 150cc” is their entry level cruiser which is cheap in price. In the same time, it is successful to attract the young customers as it target was the same category customers.

"Suzuki Gixxer" Series is actually made in the shape of “Suzuki GXR 1000” with the engine of 150cc. This series gained an excellent popularity among the young people. As the Avenger place a heavy popularity and somehow for this reason, Suzuki also on the way to introduce an entry level cruiser and a result of this thinking they have launched “Suzuki Intruder 150” in the November of this year(2017). Suzuki has called it as “Modern Cruiser”. This one from Suzuki has made in the shape of “M1800”. Although, most of the parts including the engine are taken from “Gixxer Series” More use of plastic is seen in the “Intruder 150” with the compare of “Intruder M1800”. Lets be clear with the features of this bike.




Design
If we take a close look to the bike, we will see that many of the parts of this bike are taken from “Intruder M1800”. Headlight, Looking mirror and some parts of the fuel tanks and others. As the both of it has difference in the features, but Intruder 150 mostly follow the design of “Intruder M1800”. Fuel tank is somehow look like the cruiser but there are used big size of kit in both sides. Which covered up the fuel tank and gives it a muscular look. Front part is mostly look like the “Intruder M1800” where tyre and wheel is direct copy of the Gixxer. Seat is almost look like the Intruder M1800.




Structure
Suzuki has named their Intruder 150 as the modern cruiser. It is 2130mm long and 805mm wide same time, its height is 1095mm. As like the others cruiser, its seat height is little bit lower of 740mm. Ground clearance is 170mm. Weight is 148kg meanwhile its fuel tank capacity is 11 liter. Its wheel base is 1405mm. Both of the footrest is normal, (both means rider and the pillion) as we see in the “Avenger 150”. this short of footrest give the advantage to ride in the cities. Stylish twin muffler is used as the exhaust, which is actually a modified version of “Suzuki Gixxer”.



Engine
As we have mentioned previously that many of the parts of design of this have borrowed from the Intruder M1800 but including the engine and some part are from Gixxer. Engine is one of them. Its engine is 155cc, max power is 14.6 BHP and max torque is 14NM. Its gear number is 5. It is officially said that, in city ride this will serve 40-45 kilometers of mileage. As a city cruiser, this will give the enough advantage we hope. As the south Asian riders mostly prefers the fuel efficiency so this kind of cruiser going to make smile we can say.



Wheels and Tires
Just with a close notice and we can see that these all have been taken from Gixxer. Front wheels size is 100/90-17 and the rear wheel is 140/60-17. Both tires are tubeless and both wheels are in the same size. Usually, front wheel is larger in accordance with the rear wheel. But in this bike, we noticing the difference.




Brakes and Suspensions
Disk brakes are used in the both wheels. For the advance advancement ABS braking system is used in the front wheel which is very powerful and ensure the safe braking. Telescopic suspension is used in the front wheel mono shock is in the rear one and this is better to say that, it is rare to find in the cruiser bikes.




Meter and Electrical
Meter is completely digital meter. Modern and all the necessary indicator is available in this meter. Basically we see analog meter console as the classic look on the cruiser bikes. It is quite good to see as the company mentioning this one as “Modern Cruiser”. Switches used in the handlebar as like common bikes switch which we think its going to be pretty much effective for the city ride. Headlight is 35/35 watts with the AHO technology. It also has LED rear lamp.




At the last
According to all the features we can say that, this one has appeared as a hard competitor of “Bajaj Avenger”. Although, its price is higher than the Avenger but much more ahead from the features and looks.
