Hello friends, how are you all? My name is Nadim Iqbal Abir, I am a bike lover and today I am to share my RTR 160 4V using experience.
Last year me with June vai, Rony vai along with Foysal vai made a bike tour on Mustang trail of Nepal. We made this tour through FZS FI just to have proper balance and fuel efficiency but then we took a RTR 200 4V just compare the higher cc performance. It is better to mention in the same that Mustang is one of the dangerous off road tracks in the world.
While on the tour, all FZS keep us fresh through its performance but we have to suffer with the performance of RTR on the off road. Specially for its Engine Guard, it was stacking again and again on the even after having remarkable ground clearance. RTR 200 4V had vibration as well. While on the off road with this motorcycle, we found low quality breaking system and same time, skidding in the rear wheel. It was a 200cc bike but its gear number was only 5.
but the most interesting matter is, whatever I felt with this bike then I fall in love with it even after having such problem in this motorcycle because of its Muscular look and for the exhaust's boom boom sound.
By studying a lot over RTR 200 4V, TVS now presenting the finer and smooth version RTR 160 4V. Just a few days ago I heard the new that RTR 160 4V is about to launch in Bangladeshi market and I made the decision to have it instantly. I got my expected bike in my hands on 15th November and I started my journey with this one.
This motorcycle is still on pre booking period and it can be hope that, from the next month this bike will be available in the local market.
Although, I don't yet ridden my motorcycle so much but I am to share my experience with this one whatever I felt with this one till now.
Design:
There is hardly anything new to say on the matter of its design. Only because of its exceptional design this one place itself to the hearts of bike lovers. Its muscular fuel tank and for its full digital console will make you feel something different just after sitting over its seating position. To give it a whole new look, lead cup of the fuel tank sided on the right. Head and tail lump both are very much attractive. Both sides of the headlights LED DRL are very much attractive as well. Duel horn of TVS is been used this motorcycle. This motorcycle will be available in Red, Black and Blue colors.
Engine:
this motorcycle has 159.7cc 4 stroke single cylinders oil cooled engine which is very much refined, smooth and vibration free. This cylinder has 4 valves which mix the air and fuel and combine the fuel properly by which Engine enriches with the performance and fuel efficiency. This Engine can produce 8000 RPM, 16.5 PS power and for this type of motorcycles, this is enough to serve the exact performance. This one has 5 speed gear box and self and kick both starting option this one has. After having this motorcycle in my hand, my average speed was 60 kilometers per hour and top speed was 80 kilometers per hour. As because it is still on break in period this is why, I didn't tried to pick up more. Gear shifting is so smooth which you are not going to believe until you make a ride over this one. This motorcycle is made with Improved Weight Distribution and this is the reason this one is not like the previous RTR, front part feel like heavy. Exhaust's is sound is little different and smooth and I think this will make you feel better.
Fuel Consumption:
Its fuel tank capacity is 12 liters and reserve fuel capacity is 2.5 liters. After riding this motorcycle around 200 kilometers I had the average mileage of 40+ kilometers per liter. I positively hope that I am going to have better mileage just after completing the break in period.
Dimension and Weight:
This motorcycles weight is 145kg and while riding this one its balance and comfort is very much amazing but its seating position is not up to the mark. Its ground clearance is 180mm and saddle height is 800mm which going to be problem for the low heights riders I think. If your height is 5 feet 6 inches or above then you are not going to face any problem otherwise you may face some to touch the ground properly.
Its chassis is Double cradle Split Synchro STIFF type. This ones front part has double telescopic fork and rear part has monoshock suspensions which going to serve you the proper comfort while riding this motorcycle.
Breaking:
Its breaking system is much more improved from the RTR. This ones front wheel has 270mm and rear side has 200mm petal disc break and this will make you feel safe and good enough confident while on the road.
Wheels and tyres:
This bike has 17 inches Alloy wheels. Front one is 90/90-17 and rear wheel is 130/80-17 section tyres. This wheel make you feel good enough balance and confident while breaking and cornering. But I personally think that if the stock tyre switched with the new one then its breaking performance going to be much more improved. I lost my confident while on the lite mud and dust.
Electrical:
this bike has 12 volts 9 Ampere battery and the headlight has 35/35W Philips HS1 Halogen Bulb. There is an LED lamp in in this bike which remain on all the time. This motorcycle is build in AHO system but TVS Bangladesh installed the headlamp on off switch and I want to Thank them from core of my heart. I removed the Halogen headlamp and installed LED.
Build quality:
So far its build quality is good enough in my view.
Engine Oil:
My RTR has the capacity of 1200ml Engine oil. User manual suggest to use synthetic type 10W30 grades engine oil.
Price:
Along with all these features of this motorcycle, its price is going to be 204900 BDT (without registration fee). This price is competitive to me with the compare with the other bikes of the same category.
Negative feelings:
1. Its performance is not up to the mark while over the dusty and muddy road and I think this because of its low quality tyres. After changing the tyres, no problem will be seen on control I think. 2. Headlights reflector size is tiny in size and due to this reason, its light don't reach in far. 3. Rear view mirror in this motorcycle is used from the previous RTR's. With this new motorcycle and new model, this mirror is not so adjusted. As because I face problem to have the rear view and this is why I changed the rear view mirror and switched to Gixxer's. 4. handlebar is slightly wide and for this reason, turning radios is large in my point of view. 5. The Digital meter is so pretty to look at but there is no gear indicator. 6. Monoshock is quite hard in my feelings, I think it is going to be soft with the time.
Overall:
According to the price and features of this motorcycle, this one is pretty nice in my opinion. Previous RTR which are available in market, those have some problem in the breaking and weight distribution but this one is completely free from those. Almost each of the brands motorcycles face accident so it depends on the biker and rider have to ride his bike safely to avoid accident. So ride safely to avoid unexpected accident, keep the speed which you can control over. This review is completely mine and I am sharing this one from my personal experience.

Don't listen to what other says. Go & try by yourself ....
Ratings and the reasons in my view:
Design: 8/10, Sharee Guard Extender + A nice rear view mirror + If the meter has gear indicator then this will worth of having 10 on 10. colors are fine enough.
Control: 9/10, No complain at all but nothing extra ordinary, worth of having 10.
Comfort: 10/10, Seating position is more then soft. I am switching it from CBR and this is the reason of feeling so.
Mileage: 8/10, I would have mark it 10 if I had the mileage 50+ as because Gixxer has better mileage even with carb Engine.
Service center: 9/10, as because the TVS's authorized servicing centers are so many even on the street to street. Although TVS's spares price is higher from the others brand.
Price: 9/10, I would have no complain if I had FI version in this price range.
