TVS Apache RTR 160 user review by Sumon Ali

Motorcycle is one one of the most common and popular vehicle in Bangladesh and to all class of people. By this vehicle one can travel a long distance in a very short time. Same time, motorcycle become something like a basic need to the young people of modern time and help a lot in the emergency. My name is MD. Sumon Ali and I am a businessman. I mainly purchase this bike to maintain my business properly same time, to manage my family and personal task by saving my time on the road with it. I used to riding bike for a long time but I was not satisfied with my old bikes as because those are not with any special configuration. At the same time, I don't have any way to have a bike with heavy configuration and reasons were so many. But the good news is, just before 1.5 months ago my dream came true. I purchased my Apache RTR 160cc from Khan Motors of Puthia upazila Rajshahi. Before purchasing this bike, I made a conversation with my close friend who was using the same bike from the last 5 months. He had purchased the bike from the same showroom. As because, he is already experienced with this one and positively advice me to go with this bike.

I had used two bike before this one which means this one is the 3rd bike of my life. I was used to with Hero Glamor 125cc and Bajaj Platina 100cc.

I faced a problem with my Apache RTR 160 just after 5 days of purchasing this one and the problem was with the self start which was disabled in cool condition. Same time, Engine was not starting until I hold the eye. This make me feel real bad. This was actually normal to feel so for anyone who had purchased a bike with a lot of hope and dream. Without wasting any time, I took my bike to the servicing center and they serve my bike very cordially but the worst thing was, I faced the same problem in 2 days after servicing. Once again I took my bike in the servicing center and they serve my bike again and give me a serious advice to run 3000 kilometers and then they will serve it totally to vanish this problem from the core. From this point of view, I am waiting right now to cross the distance and I am positively hopeful with their words. In these 1.5 months I have traveled 1300 kilometers without any accident.

Its Design is really over excellent from all the aspects which is really special to me. Graphics are pretty good to look at. Plastics over its body are pretty strong from my opinion and I hope those are going to support for a long time. Its Engine performance is really charming and powerful noticeably. I didn't feel any short of over heat even after riding it for a long time. I can ride it with expected comfort on any short of road condition. Engine sound is quite good but in the high speed, top side of my bike vibrate badly and I sense a bad noise from the Engine. One of the key reason to purchase this bike is its extra ordinary look. To my view, this bike has whole new graphics design in its whole body. Same time, its parts are quite strong and the fuel tank is exciting to look at. Just before few days, I noticed a bad noise in my bike while riding and this make me feel terrified about something serious and thought about some serious problem in the Engine. I didn't waste any time to took my bike in the servicing center but they ensure me that the sound is not from the engine rather it is from the chain set. They just reset the chain set and I go back to my home with a tension free mind.

Seating position of my Apache RTR 160cc is just excellent in my view. I can wonder with my family without any tension of space. I feel a great comfort while riding this one as like its seating position is very soft, no problem to sit over it, no problem to touch the ground from the seating position. Same time, I didn't sense anything serious even after riding this one for a long time.

I don't yet made any long tour but my highest ride is 30 kilometers a day and I have picked up the top speed of 94 kilometers per hour. Front part of my bike vibrates badly when I am over 90 kilometers per hour. Switches on the handlebar are pretty nice to look and I don't yet feel any problem to use those. I sensed this bike in the night as well. The headlight serve me the exact light which is needed to to have the clear view of the front. Same time, suspensions are really good by which I hardly can sense any vibration even on the rough and tough road condition. Meanwhile, breaking system is pretty good to have the exact control over this bike ignoring the matter of traffic or situation. As because this bike has disc break which ensure the proper safety on the matter of control. But I am not happy with the performance of the tyres. Those skids roughly on the wet road. Looking glass show the exact view of my back.



Now I want to mention something about the mileage of my bike. I don't yet measured the exact mileage of my bike rather I refill the fuel tank just before the hard line. I have no complain on the matter of mileage. Same time, service center of Puthia is really good from all the aspects in my view. They are pretty good in their behavior as well. I am happy to be guest of them.

According to the current market, the price of Apache RTR 160cc is far lees then others bike of the same segment. By noticing its price range, I don't waste any time to purchase it. Price range is ok and fine according to the performance and quality of this bike so far.

Good sides:
1. Engine performance is pretty good, 2. Seating position is good enough, 3. Fuel expense is just up to the mark, 4. Design is good enough, 5. Switches are good to look at, 6. Headlights light is quite sharp to have the clear view in night, 7. Suspensions serve good performance even on the rough roads, 8. Breaking system is quite nice to have the exact control over this one, 9. Price is more then reasonable, 10. Looking glass uphold the clear view of my back.
Negative sides:
1. Problem in the self start, 2. Chain can't hold its tightness for long time, 3. Tyres grip is not up to the mark.

At the last I want to say that, this bike will serve better if the Engine oil is better in quality.
And from this point view, I request you to purchase engine by thinking twice.
