Yamaha FZS Fi user review by Abdul Hamid

Yeah it is true that time and tide wait for none and within a blink one year have passed with my red FZS. Within this one year I have traveled 9400 KM. it is my second bike by the way. First one was red RTR and with that I have traveled 45000+ kilometers path within 5.5 years.

You will be disappointed if you are expecting something regular kind of post from me as the biker club member do, I will share my very own one year experiences with bike and the findings as well which I have seen. I do not understand that much technical terms like the other Fi club members do but after using this FZS Fi as a normal user I have gathered my own experiences and they are,

I think the seating position is more than perfect comparing the same segment bikes. And this opinion also goes the same at the controlling.



Brakes of this bike are very responsive and every time I used them they didn’t disappoint me.
At the city like Dhaka I am getting 37-40 KM/L mileage and I am truly satisfied with it.
I have changed the engine oil whenever it becomes necessary, after using 400, 900, 1500, 2500, 3500 Kilometers I changed the engine oil gradually and it was Motul mineral engine oil. At 4500 kilometers I first used synthetic engine oil which was also from Motul. After 6000 I again placed Motul engine oil and finally at 8800 kilometers I used Mobil-1 engine oil. Every single time I change the engine oil I also replace the air filter.

No big servicing is required till now accept, changing the Brake shoe, tail lamp replacing, Horn changing, tighten the chain and all these are done in warranty service period.

On average I clean up the chain after two weeks and use lubricants on it, (remaining engine oil). Not only that in every one month I wash the bike and use lubricants where it is requires.

After changing few things and with the own belongings of this bike I am getting good acceleration and I am satisfied with it. Because I am not high speed lover I like to ride on average speed. Those who know me personally know this very well.

During at the last EID eve I was fallen down at the Babu Bazar Bridge though I didn’t hurt myself that much, but my bikes front portion gets broken on that time. Body parts of this bike especially the plastic quality is not up to the mark or as expected. But the bumper (engine guard) saved my legs after I fallen down. Few metal parts are getting drenched which is not expected.

When I was riding at 8000 kilometers I used Yamaha Lub carbon cleaner though I didn’t feel the specialty or effectiveness of this thing.

I am not used to of long tours but Mawa, Safari park, Gazipur, Kapashia, Nawabganj these places are visited by me and my bike. I am mainly a city rider.

Because it is 2017 model so AHO is found at this bike and for that reason few peoples reminds me to turn off the headlamp. But by the grace of almighty till now I haven’t faced problems with the battery.
For smooth riding I personally prefer this bike and I truly love this bike as well, and I will also suggest this bike but the price can be little bit lower than now.
