Design, Style and Shades
Yamaha always know the proper use of colors and graphics. They have smartly given this new version better style and design. FZS version 2.0 Fi is based on the same platform of old models but it looks stunningly different despite having the same dimensions and shape. Some noticeable changes are made with this bike from the front. Modern headlight makes a great difference to its looks and this bike looks more aggressive than the previous version. Stylish graphics on its uplifted fuel tanker make the feel more violent. Almost every bike comes in dual tone colors and can easily be acknowledged. Moreover the bike has the same body color stripes on its rims which give improved style. The dual layered, graphite finished exhaust is also different than other FZS models and it goes well with its fully black colored engine and alloy wheels. Seats are wider and the tire fender remains the same for the fatty tires. The bike looks exactly because of the fatty rear tire and tail light.
New Yamaha FZS version 2.0 Fi is available in few various shades and they are Astral Blue, Lightning Cyan, Opal White, Matt Green, Knight Red, Viper Black and Hurricane Gray.
Instrument console and electrical
At instrument side of FZS Version 2.0 FI is almost similar with the previous one. It has a digital speedometer, odometer, trip meter and fuel gauge with LED indicators. There is nothing analogue on this instrument side of this bike. At the electrical it has electric stating option with the help of 12V, 4.0AH (10H) sealed type battery, few upgrades are made powerful head light 12 V, 35/35W, LED turn light of 12V, 10W×2 at the both side.
Engine and performance
FZS Version 2.0 Fi is powered by a brilliant 149cc single-cylinder, SOHC, 2-valve four-stroke, air cooled engine which produces maximum power output of 13 Bhp @ 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 12.8 Nm @ 6000 rpm. This bike is also built-in with a five-speed manual gearbox with one gear down and four gears up shift pattern. Compression ratio is 9.5:1.
There is no difference in the performance of this extremely advanced engine at 150cc segment. It's a very quick responding and powerful engine with good sustainability. There are no vibrations and harshness in this engine even at good speed engine remains extremely silent. Moreover this 149cc engine is equipped with a top quality of gear box. Riders will not complain about anything in the gear transmission. It's very smooth and easy to shift gears. The only problem the rider will notice is the absence of power at high speeds. At the city roads, it won’t be a problem but after open the throttle completely on highways, you will look for more power which goes missing. Gear ratios are kept short so that you can utilize most of the power of this engine within no time. Acceleration is perfect than before riders can have good speed in no time.
Mileage and Speed
Low fuel efficiency was one of the biggest problems for FZS bikes but as now the company claims, BLUE CORE technology is placed at FZS Version 2.0 which has improved the mileage with no lessening in the overall performance and that’s why we are using FI with bikes name. The high performance engine of this bike can give a mileage of around 40 KM/L in daily usage while on highways; it can give around 45-50KM/L mileage. This type of mileage can be said fuel efficient. Though the mileage is improved but the speed remains almost the same which is good anyways. Approximate top speed of this bike is 110-115 KM/H.
Comfort
Seating of FZS Version 2.0 Fi is changed slightly because now it is holding Split Seats which are wider. Wider new seat makes it comfortable than before. The knees will automatically stick to its fuel tank offering nice hold of this bike for the rider. There is everything similar on this bike except for the handle bar which is placed a bit lower than FZ-S 2016 which is almost not visible. This is done for more comfortable position while driving with great palm grip and if the rider feels comfort the pillion will also be comfortable during riding.
Suspension and Brakes
FZS Version 2.0 Fi contains very powerful and effective suspension system. It has telescopic forks at its front with a mono shock absorber at the back. It's a very comfortable bike and you can not feel it as soon as you get on to it. At the braking, FZS ensures you a very safe and enjoyable ride with its braking system. The bike sports a disc brake of 267mm at its front and a drum brake of 130mm at its back. This brake system works effectively and you can always have a good control on this bike.
Conclusion
Till now every formula Yamaha invented has worked for them. It would have been more successful if Yamaha would have offered this bike with a rear disc brake but in over all view performance will give pleasure to the users of this newest edition.
