Motorcycle Emergency Braking
Biker get themselves nervous on the situations:
- How hard should I push the brake?
- Is front wheel is going to lock?
- Is I'm going to fly over the handlebar?
- What going to happen if the wheels get skid?
There are so many shorts of bikes in the world:
you know the fact of bikes that each of the bike is different from each other even same model of the same brand differs from each other. Some advance in speed, some of in weight, some bikes different in structure and some bikes advance in the braking system. And for all of these, braking process is different as well in all the bike “drum brake, disk brake and sometime ABS braking system. By gathering all these information you can guess or understand by yourself that “there is no specific rule of braking by which you can measure the distance to stop your bike” there are so many things behind proper braking of your bike as like braking system, tire, rider and the weight of your bike. You may get so many reason by which your braking system appear different.
You just have to make an excellent understanding with your bike by which you can read your bike and bike your can read you as well.
Never get nervous:
Sometime practice fail to ensure your safety unless you cannot control your nerves. When you are trying to stop your bike on the emergency basis, you have control your nerves as well. If you fail to do so then generally you are going to push the rare wheels brake heavy hard same time the front wheel as well and whole the process never going to make anything blessing.
Make some habit from the root:
you need heavy practice for the emergency braking. And for this practice you are going to perform your ride perfectly by which you don't have to think differently about the emergency braking. If you have proper practice then your the auto reflex of your is going to commend you automatically what you have to do in the emergency situation.
Pull the clutch and stop the front wheel:
you have to release the acceleration, hold the clutch, don't use the rare brake instead of you have hold the front brake. But you have keep in mind “never try to stop your bike at once” you just have to start the process to stop your bike later total control.
Why not the rare brake?
You may ask about the matter of front brake? We always recommend front in the emergency period. Why because, if you choose the rare brake then this is very normal to push hard to the maximum limit same time, you are also going to lost the control of your bike and this back is going to moving as like “fish tailing” the same thing is going to happen in the muddy road.
One thing you can if you get in this situation, you can change your sit position by which your bikes “center of gravity” is going to change and you can control your bike.
Whatever happens, you never going to face any situation like “fish tailing” and for this reason we suggest you to never use the rare wheel in the emergency situation.
As the last try, swerve:
If you fall in the situation like there is no way to avoid accident or clash then you can turn your bike in one side to less the damage and get little bit more time to control the situation. This is called swerve. This something like “counter steering” but the difference is you are going to have enough time in the “counter steering” but in the “swerve” you will have a little.
Suppose you are running in a medium speed suddenly a cycle or a vehicle appear from the side road and it so close that you cannot even stop your bike on that time. This time you need “swerve” you just have ti turn your bike very slightly by which your bike is going to turn from the object. You have to stay sharp in these kind of situation. Your have to keep your body straight, knee on the fuel tank, feet on the foot rest. And your eye on the road in which you want to move yourself. You can perform counter steering this time by which you can use hand right way. Never try to stop your bike in the swerving point, if you do so then you must fall on the road with a bad sound.
At the last
The same word for you “practice” proper practice can ensure your safe braking.
Stay safe, keep safe.
