Engine oil is derived from petroleum-based and non-petroleum-synthesized chemical mixed”. In simple words it can be said that engine oil helps the engine perform properly from all the side. Every type of motorcycle engine needs high quality engine oil for its own performance. If we talk about the reality and in our country Basis those engine oil which are available at our local market are not unique, most of them are duplicate. Types of engine oils:
There few types of engine oil are available across the world for the motorcycle engine. In those, three popular types of engine oil can be found which are generally used by the riders all over the world and they are Mineral Engine oil, Synthetic engine oil and Semi-Synthetic engine oil. These three types of engine oil are available in our country market.
Mineral engine oil:
Mineral engine oil is a type of oil which comes from the mine and being purified for many times. After purifying this natural oil company owners divide them in many grades then they import those to the local market. These oils are much chipper then other types of engine oils and according to our country weather and purchasing ability it is suitable for the motorcycle users. These engine oils are much slighter than synthetic engine oil. These engine oils can be used at almost every type of motorcycles which we saw at our country roads, but according to the experts advice these oils are perfect for the commuter category bikes.
Synthetic engine oil:
Synthetic oil is one of the best quality engine oil. Synthetic oils are mainly used at the winter based countries and for the sports or racing category motorcycle engines. This type of engine oils is very costly because of their superior quality. Both pros and cons are available of synthetic oils. Good side of this oil is, this oil creates a circle inside the engine for shielding dust or other needless things for the better performance of the engine. On the other hand this type of oil is viscous or we can say its density is too much and for this the oil flow cannot be done that properly.
Semi-Synthetic engine oil:
Most of the users use semi-synthetic engine oil and they are getting good feedback in their opinion. This engine oil is very user friendly and it is reasonable in price. Specialty of this engine oil is this oil separate the internal dust of an engine and keeps the engine sound and gear shifting very smooth. No user had complained that much about this engine oil.
There are many approval seals are also available all over the world who approve these types of engine oil for using. And they are, API – American Petroleum Institute, JASO : The Japanese Automotive Standards Organization, “ S” grade stands for Petrol vehicles or Spark Ignition vehicles, “ C” grade stands for Diesel vehicles, “W” for winter Multi grade Single grade, EP : Extra Pressure, SAE : Society of Automotive Engineers, etc and many more. These approval seals help the riders to know about the quality and proper uses of that engine oil. In our country we generally saw that API and SAE seals are available.
Engine oil Grade:
If a motorcycle riders or engine oil user check out any of the engine oils in the shops or online, they will be able to see one thing in attractive bold letters among everything else and that is a ‘W' rating. You will be able to see numbers among it like 10W30 , 20W50 , 0W30 , 20W40 etc. which refer to multi grade. These are the authentic numbers that they have to consider while purchasing the engine oil because all the manufacturers recommend a certain grade of engine oil and these numbers are the actual grading system. Different types of engine require different engine oils. Let check them out in detail.
In the grading system of engine oils, for example 10W40 the letter "W" stands for winter and the number preceding the “ W ” is the low temperature count. That is the value which denotes the "low temperature performance of the engine oil". For the engine oil to perform it has to hold on to a certain viscosity level for optimum performance and so when the temperature fluctuates, the engine oil viscosity tends to get affected. In simple words it can be said that the number which is given before the word “W” is for the winter term and the number which is given after the word “W” is for the summer or hot weathers. That is why when a rider will purchase an engine oil he has to keep in mind his conditions, situation and weather then according to all he should buy.
Across the world, for the user's motorcycle users few popular engine oils are available and they are Mobil 1, Havoline, Yamalube, Omera, Castrol GTX, Super v, HPX etc. These engine oils are always available at the big showrooms and shops that is why users always have to buy these products from the dealers or famous showrooms for avoiding the duplicate products.
